Hard to rise and shine this morning, courtesy of that epic barbecue we hosted the other day. We partied until the wee hours, indulging in copious amounts of fat and protein, and catching only a wink of sleep. Were it not for my intense shoulder workout yesterday, I'd be satisfied with six or seven hours of rest.

Zero regrets, though...

I hadn't planned on attending a darn barbecue, but when the opportunity beckoned, I couldn't resist. I'd actually gone over to a buddy's place last evening to lend a hand with his firewood. The stack had been sitting near his house since he bought it, and he couldn't haul it all inside by himself, so we ventured over to assist.

Once the task was accomplished, he had a brilliant idea - why not throw a barbecue, take a load off, and replenish our calorie reserves? I must admit, I'm quite envious of his home. It boasts a spectacular view, offering a panoramic vista of the entire town.

He's adorned it with beautiful flowers and some tasteful ornaments. However, it's a pet-free zone - well, at least until we started unloading the meat and kindling the fire, at which point two feline neighbors decided to crash the party.

I managed to snap a few photos of one of the cats, although she was a bundle of energy, making it challenging to capture her in a still pose. Nevertheless, I did manage to capture some decent shots of the blazing fire. My trusty smartphone is still delivering good results, but once the bull market kicks into high gear, and I rake in some profits, you can bet I'll be upgrading.

I regret to inform you that I didn't photograph any of the mouthwatering food because I resorted to eating with my bare hands, rendering my phone off-limits during the feast. Rest assured, though, the barbecue spread was delectable.

The sun is beginning to grace us with its presence, so I'm contemplating a refreshing shower and some quality time soaking up vitamin D. I'm acutely aware that I'll be pining for these days when winter takes hold.

I'll keep this post succinct because it seems my regular musings are deemed "less reader-friendly" these days. Wishing you all a fantastic Saturday, and until next time, take care.

Thanks for your attention,
Adrian
