It’s no secret that this generation is obsessed with soft life, but if you ask me what I really think about this topic, it’s not a bad thing. And I’ll tell you why. Almost every soft life girlie I know wants to travel, explore, and live a luxurious lifestyle (girlie because most ambassadors of soft life are women). The men surely love a soft life too, but they don’t call it that.
And the majority of these people work so hard to get that money to live the lifestyle they want. More than half of the youth now own online businesses because of the soft life they want. Unlike those times when people used to say this generation was lazy, now almost everyone has something ongoing.
And that’s all because of the adventure and softies that come with choosing a soft life. I have a friend who likes to travel a lot, and recently, she was telling me about an adventure they were going on in South Africa this Easter. And guess what? She has been working really hard to make sure she pays the money in time so she gets to go and have fun.
Aside from that, she also works so hard to be able to provide for herself. And when I talk about providing for herself, I mean satisfying any form of need of hers. The interesting part is, she is an only child who has rich parents but doesn't really call them for money to fund that lifestyle of hers, and that is something I admire about this youth.
Recently, I see a lot of group adventures online where people pay in installments to travel to have fun. During these times, people actually work hard to gather money to pay these sums of money. This generation might not take anything seriously, but when it comes to working hard to take care of themselves or enjoy the life they want, they just put in their all.
The other bad side of being obsessed with a soft life is when you get to that point where you can’t fund your lifestyle anymore. Most people just keep working hard until they reach their target, and these are mostly people who have mastered the art of being content with what they have. And have grown to know that the fact that they don’t have what they want today is only a temporary problem. So they’ll manage. But for the others, they just resort to questionable means to still make that money. But I’m just glad.
As I said earlier, there’s really nothing wrong with being obsessed with a soft life and I think that’s even the only reason why this generation works hard. We all want to be able to fund the lifestyle, car , house and vacations we want. It only becomes a problem when we start to indulge in illegal and questionable activities just to fund that lifestyle.
