Sonder is the realization that every random passerby is living a life as vivid, complex, and central to them as yours is to you. It describes the humbling moment you realize you are merely an extra in the stories of thousands of strangers.
There's something beautiful about watching humans live, go about their day, live life, there's something beautiful about knowing the intricacies of people's life, knowing that people are more than what they appear on the surface, more than what they appear in that present moment. That they have intricate lives, hopes, dreams, vision. That living, breathing person have a whole life, with families, and emotions and trauma, that person has been through a heartbreak, that person loves, feels, eat, drink, that person has a friend group, has a social life, a best friend, that person also have problems, issues, fears, as they walk and interact with you they have a whole LIVING, BREATHING life, just as complicated and deep as your, every face you pass, every person you come in contact with have a life just like yours. This........... This is SONDER.
I was eight when I started to think this way, when I was sick or uncomfortable, I used to wish that I could swap bodies with some by my side so I won't feel uncomfortable or sick but I would then ask myself what if the person has a way worse sickness or has a bigger problem she's dealing than me, then I'll tell myself to stick with the known, because you never know how intricate and deeply another person's life is.
This is what I feel every I look at someone I find interesting, I want just know you but not necessarily having a relationship with you, I just want that intimacy of knowing you.
You know there's something intimate about knowing someone, the fact that you can tell what's wrong from just one look. Well I like to think of myself as a slut, because I want to feel this with every single person I come across and sometimes I lose my mind thinking of just living my life to watch others live theirs but sometimes I................
