The third place playoff was placed yesterday between Belgium and England. It was certainly a nice match to watch and this is their second meeting in the 2018 world cup. The starting lineups for Belgium was made of Lukaku, Dear Bruyne, Hazard, Chadli, Witsel, Tielemans, Meunier, Vertonghen, Kompany, Anderweireld and Courtois at the goal. English squad were Kane, Sterling, Rose, Delph, Diet, Loftus-cheeks, Trippier, Maguire, Stones, Jones and Pickford.
The first half of the game started on a good note and the enthusiasm can be seen in all the players. The game kicked off and just barely five minutes into the game, Belgium scored their first goal. The ball was scored by Meunier and it was from a deflected kick by Chadli. The possession margin was so close. Both teams really played a good game in the first half and no yellow card was given.
In the second half of the game was also very interesting as the pressure to score got more intensified. England was leading with possession in the early minutes of the game. In the 52nd and 76th minutes of the match, two England players were given yellow card. Fortunately in the 82nd minute, Eden Hazard scored and it was another goal for Belgium. England could not equalise and the game ended 2-0 in favour of Belgium.
