Experiencing a wrong relationship is one of the worst nightmares one could ever have in a lifetime. I didn’t know much about dating and relationships; all I was used to was friendships, family relationships, siblings' love, and respect for strangers. I know there will come a time when I will have to get into a relationship with someone special, but I am yet to know who, when, and how possible it will be.
While I was in secondary school I tried as much to refrain myself from relating that much with the girls in our classroom. It's inevitable at times because, in one way or the other, there is something that will bring you together with them. Maybe you have a group assignment or class practicals.
I tried my best and was able to get through secondary school without having any form of relationship with my mates. I know many of them who got into relationships, but in the end, there was nothing positive from it.
After school, while seeking admission I was fortunate to have met with a lady who happened to be the younger sister to a friend of mine. I appreciated her and linked up with her. She was indeed the type of lady I envisioned. You can't say anything about something until you truly have a close connection with it. It's just the same as not judging a book by its cover.
All I witnessed was just her outer appearance. The more we got to know each other the more she began to reveal her true self. Despite the odds, I was accommodative of her flaws and loved her for who she was. Little did I know that it wasn't something reciprocated.
All she wanted from me was just my money. I never knew she could be that way towards me. It was just my first time into any relationship but she proved it to be that way. Only if she was just requesting then I won't be concerned about that as I would take it as my obligation. But still making a fool out of me wasn't worth it.
In the end, I broke up with her and made up my mind that I wouldn't get into any relationship till I met the right person.
Meeting the right person became a nightmare for me. The transformation I made, and the decision I took, all of them seem to have an impact on my choice of lady. I see all ladies as almost the same thing. But I still have it in depth that there is a lady for every man.
I was done with my studies at the university, and through my five years in the university I didn't approach any lady for a relationship. Made friends with them, but I didn’t see them as ones I could move on with. Or maybe it was just me, other guys are having their ways, though I don't know what their end will look like.
I went to my service this time around. I have been getting some pressure from my parents on my plans for marriage and family settlement. But I still haven’t changed my decisions. Not until I met with Ola, did she appear like an angel in my life. I might have crushed on so many ladies but I really felt a connection with her.
Gradually I met her and got to know more about her. She made me see relationships differently. Then I decided to give it another trial. We were together for over seven months and things went well.
I believe we were compatible and suitable partners. Then I brought up discussions about marriage. Immediately I brought it. It became one of the biggest mistakes I made. She was never ready for it yet. Then she took that as an excuse to let go. I tried as much to get her back but to no avail. I guess she already made up her mind.
Two months after I wasn’t myself, I fell into depression as I could say I was obsessed. Not until I decided to let go and embrace a new change in my life. I deleted anything related to her and tried to forget everything about her too. Now I have lived and moved on.
