The sun seems unnecessarily hot today,
My legs tend to drag heavily.
The muscles within me all seem loose.
And the road ahead seems much longer.

Everything today has a different shape
The day seems to take a different look.
I hope it is not my tired mind,
Suggesting what it might be feeling.

What I dreaded has come upon me,
And what I feared has come to pass,
Never again, thought I would a loved one go
But here it is, happening all over again.

'You make friends to part', they say,
Quite true, agreed, but not in all cases.
For this friend of mine had come and gone;
But we will meet again some day.

One friend goes for you to meet another.
But I know of a friend who sticks closer than a brother - JESUS
