I recently paid a visit to the world-famous Alnwick Garden. The Duke of Northumberland used to own the garden, but it currently belongs to a charitable organization. The most attractive points of the garden are: The world's largest tree house, where you may dine in the restaurant; the famous "poison garden" in the garden, where you can observe all types of deadly toxic plants; and the light display, which can be seen on the nearby highway firing lights into the air.
Alnwick Garden, which lies close to the castle, was also converted into a food-growing field during World War II as part of the famed "Dig for Victory" effort. It was afterwards carefully restored to its former glory and reopened to the public.
