Stabilized dogs

Some of the canine specialists usually say that a dog is stabilized when it is non-confrontational, gets along well with others of its kind and with humans, teaches and protects others and avoids danger. Well, I get a lot of them on the street.

The first characteristic I can attribute to them is that they are loose, unchained. They prowl all over the area in relative tranquility, with mastery of the sector. I am the stranger. Nevertheless, some observe me from a distance as if allowing me to pass by. Some, a little more cautious, come closer to sniff me. I do not show them fear. I think that if they were dangerous they would not allow me to be there. And of course there are those who ignore me completely.

They are dogs that do not run away terrified in the presence of several humans. They feel safe and seem to already have a plan if they become a danger. That's why they don't bark unnecessarily. Perhaps they interrupt what they were doing momentarily while they identify us, and then go about their own business.

When I meet their owners I like to ask their names. Occasionally I get to take pictures with the quadrupeds. Some people watch me closely when they see me petting an unfamiliar dog. But I don't know if they are surprised by me or by the hound. I will never know what they will find strange.

These photos are some of the ones I've taken recently. Not all dogs allow themselves to be photographed, and even though some do, let's just say the lens didn't work in their favor. What about you, what do you do when you see stray dogs?
