Here Lies Romanticism (Poem)

I cannot comprehend the pain of loss,
but I can define the quality of ignorance that instigates it.

I have no faith left –
poetry is mathematics.
Romanticism,
a lifeless arrangement of angles.

I know it’s true,
but I don’t believe it.

The heart doesn’t beat with the cognition used to create mathematics,
but with the passion that produces the geometry of our gestures.
