What is it like to live in Venezuela? Venezuelan short story

A few months ago (around january) somebody who lives in the U.S. told me that on those months it was hard coming out of the bed because of how it cold it was and i told him that many venezuelans have that problem too but not because of the cold or laziness but by having to face whatever you have to live that day.

In a country where nothing can be normally planned, living day to day is an odyssey full of surprises, more like an adventure to go hiking in the Amazon jungle and not knowing what weird bug you can find.

Living in an eternal anguish for your family and friends, whether they got sick and can't find medicine in any pharmacy or if they don't have anything to eat that day.

Not been able to sleep well because you're scared of your car wheels getting stolen or because you have to queue up very early in the morning to get a chance to buy some food .

Living in Venezuela is not easy at all and things are getting worse everyday but we must keep working hard everyday and have hope that things will get better at some point.

"The lower you fall, the higher you'll fly." ~ Chuck Palahniuk.

I do must admit that i have learned from living through this: Simple things like, a smile from a stranger, fresh food in the fridge, warm clothes on your body, a comfy bed, your good health, all become things to treasure.

The construction of a better Venezuela is on our hands, "You can not change anything in your environment if you do not change first".
