It's been a while since I've made this short but intense trip to Amsterdam. In this quarantine period, I have pulled out some photos, some memories just to travel a little with the mind since with the body you still have to be locked in the house.
Amsterdam is a very charming, creative city, for its enchanted places like parks and colourful facilities and for its "transgressive" places where getting lost in travel and laughter is very easy.
The whole thing started a summer where my friends and I decided to spend a week camping at the sea of Cervia (Italy) "we hire" our friend "Puccio" to organize everything and shows up after two days with 4 tickets to Amsterdam! Surprised, surprised and very happy with the initiative of our dear friend we prepare the backpacks and ready for adventure.
Amsterdam presents a clean, organized, sociable and creative city.
The green, well-maintained parks, the cobweb of canals of the city, the murals on every building, the crooked buildings... or maybe the crooks were us :-) taking advantage of the coffee shops.
A trip to the Van Gogh museum... wonderful, coffeeshop, a jump to the factory of the famous Heineken beer, coffeeshop, the stops of the various parks to enjoy the beautiful days, coffeeshop, a drink at Hard Rock Cafe, coffeeshop :-).
I was blown away by a large amount of bicycles around the city, perhaps the only way to ride freely but more out of respect for the world I think, although well stocked with public transport.
The flood of live music venues that here in Italy are falling year after year and emerging bands like mine struggle to play.
This city has remained in my heart and the desire to return is so much... who knows maybe this quarantine is over... a few days there...
