Reading and Learning: A Mind Expansion

How would you define Liberty?
A freedom..?
To do what, more specifically?

Which liberties do you value the most...?

I will let you think about the answers, while we through this post...

I believe we could take this quarantine as an opportunity to improve our intellectual knowledge, if possible.

Despite having our freedom partially affected, we can intelligently manage our time during these hard times. Through learning.
I would recommend you to look outside for a while.

Be thankful for being at home.

In order to answer this question, I'd suggest you to think about your last trip.
What did you learn?

In this article I am going to share some thoughts I've had this past week, while you learn about the picturesque town of Revelstoke, British Columbia.

Defragmenting your brain.

Focus on your internal growth. Try to rest for a while from the automated routine. Work during the night if you can. Redefine your old limitations and return 55x stronger than before.

History has always caught my attention. Not only visiting heritage sites, but learning through them, has taught me how to acquire the real travel experience I've been looking for during past years.

Every little bit of information matters when you are visiting a totally new place.

Relax.

Take a deep look to the street if you can.

How would you describe the current peacefulness on the roads and streets?

I believe this was the first time our generation was able to see reality as it is: Without airplanes, cars and all the stress imposed to people daily.
This is historical, although unfortunate.

Remember feeling the fresh air while looking to some amazing architecture, or trying a new food with a strong taste?

I am talking about intensity.
Look at that:

I feel inspired whenever I think about Revelstoke. It's so interesting to learn how things have changed.

For example:
Since the early 18th century there is a community living in the area of Revelstoke. It was called Farwell, initially.
There were many differences from today, though.

Imagine a wild west town: Full of brothels, saloons and hotels and bars.

Settlement and development were brought with European immigrants.

Many Scandinavians decided to move to the town of Revelstoke, altering the culture over time.

Did you know?

  • Back in 1915, North America’s first ski jump was built Revelstoke:

Nels Nelsen won the world ski jumper championship several times during the 1920's.

That’s what I call pioneering, no doubt.

The community of Revelstoke was established long before 1889, as Canada was rushing to reach the west through the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway.

As a town, Revelstoke has existed since 1899.

In my opinion:

Liberty is the power to pursue your curiosities. To absorb new knowledge and allow yourself to be part of this human evolution as an instrument of change, regardless of what external factors force you to think. Liberty represent the possibility of having the choice to follow your heart, and stand up for living the way you decided to live.

YOUR OWN.
