Worldtrip! We were still in Laos and it was time for a Kayak battle!

Our days weren't over yet in Luang Prabang and it really is a lovely town. There is a night market every night where you can order the most amazing sandwiches (totally your choice what they put on there), panncakes and fresh juices YUMMM. Also (when you get up really early) you can see the munks walking down the street and accepting offers from the locals, very special but a little bit to early if you ask us ;-).

Fortunately, our friends from Rotterdam (introduced in an earlier post) came to Luang Prabang too. They arrived in the evening and during the day we took a massage.
After a night in Utopia with Pim and Esther, it was also time for them to throw some balls at the bowling alley in Luang Prabang. Pim immediately felt at home on the track after YEARS AND YEARS of bowling experience. Well you showed us some good art Pim! Chapeau!

The following days we also had a lot of cosiness. We have eaten deliciously in a small narrow alley between the locals, visited the evening market, climbed Mount Phu Si where we had a wonderful view in between the 200 Koreans and.... we kayaked!
We did not sit in a kayak for one minute and we went directly into a bush. With twigs and beasts in our hair we came back. Here Pim saw a challenge;
"Okay, who tumbles over first needs to buy the others a beer tonight" Pim said enthusiastically. "Well, deal!" Of course, we were going to face this challenge.
With full concentration and the Go Pro in our hand we went straight into the rough water. 'WE CAN DO THIS NIK!!!'
"YES, WE CAN CAR!"

And as seriously as we took our task, we suddenly saw a bunch of human beings in the water in the distance. Was this really happening?! Were our Rotterdam friends in the water? Ha! 1-0. How could it be? They had confiscated the BEST kayak... right?
And then the next part of rough water was there... BAM! There they went again. 2-0 it was and it stayed that way. It can happen to the best honeys, we will have the beers in the Netherlands 😉

So we had a great sporty day, and we could chill in the evening. Of course we ended up in Utopia with a cocktail and a card game. The game Kazen will be a hit in Rotterdam!

And then it was really time to say goodbye, as we would leave with the slow boat the next day. Pim & Esther, we really enjoyed spending time with you!! See you soon!

In the next report we will take you on the slow boat and deep into the jungle in search of the Gibbon monkeys!
