Worldtrip! The culture capital of Laos; Luang Prabang (Also a good place to go out!)

After Vang Vieng, we really were in love with this country and we were looking forward to go and explore more.

After a long and curvy journey, we arrived in the town; Luang Prabang. This also lays in a beautiful area and you can find enough culture here.

Luang Prabang lies in central Laos and is surrounded by nature and mountains. It's the fourth city of Laos and the capital when it comes to temples and Buddhism (it's the home town of more then 300 Monks) and since 1995 this city is on the UNESCO world heritage list. There are also many activities like kayaking on the Mekong river, cave walks and the big night market.
But enough about this and back to our story!

Unfortunately for these princesses (after 6 nights in a resort) it was time for a hostel. 2 bunk beds, 4 women and 3 bathrooms for the whole hostel; Had to go well right? Well... we have not slept for 5 nights, because we've been lying on a stone matrass and our roommates did not go softly. We have had 3 roommates, we'll go through them with you:

1: Our older German eat, pray, love freundin.
2: A girl from Chili who thought everything, really really everything sucked.
3: A young chick from America who was always in the room and really wanted to keep ALL her stuff close to her (read: everything was on her bed including shoes, sanitary napkins and a 100 plastic bags).

On our first day we went to the Kuang Si waterfall, considered as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world.
The trip to the waterfall took about 50 minutes, so that was about 40 minutes longer than we expected. In an open tuktuk at 9 o'clock in the morning it was a bit freezing (yes people it can be cold in Loas sometimes). The waterfall was really very beautiful with several "floors" and extremely light blue water. Definitely recommended.

Luang Prabang does not have a lot of nightlife, but if you know where to be (like us) you can definitely party. Bar/restaurant Utopia it was! Hamburger and a beer with a nice view over the river. We would not go to bed late, because we really had to catch up on our adventures in Vang Vieng. The last bit of beer was still in our bottle when a group of boys sitting next to us started a conversation. Soon we found out we stayed in the same hostel and we ordered a new drink. A bizarre group of men it was: a Danish, Italian, Englishman and a Danish Thai (yes they exist).

At half past 12, Utopia closed. Where to go now?
We thought to bed but no no ... the tuktuks were waiting in large numbers outside to bring us to the next destination; the bowling club... Because that's what happens here after midnight in Luang Prabang; you go bowling!

Everyone walks out of Utopia into a tuktuk and after a 10-minute ride, you will be dropped at a bowling alley. Of course, you understand that bowling gets a different touch than usual, but still everyone stays competitive. Sometimes there is a bowling ball on top of the other or people bowl without clothes. But ah well we had fun!

We shared a tuktuk back to our hostel with the guys and they wanted to buy some mushrooms from our tuktuk driver.
'Have fun with that!' We said and went to bed.
Well, they didn't have any fun we can tell you. One after another, we have heard throwing up all night... FUN

Luckely the cleaningladies started early that day and we had a clean toilet when we woke up.

We know this is not a very neat ending of a story but no worries in our next one there will be no throwing up any more. It will continue in this lovely town.
