welcome to the thirteenth part of our tour of the island of Corsica, which takes us to the southeast of the island.Hallo Steemit,
willkommen zum dreizehnten Teil unserer Rundreise über die Insel Korsika, welche uns in den Südosten der Insel führt.
We drove on this day from our first apartment in the north to the second accommodation in the south of the island. The route was planed in a way that we were able to see the most attractions possible.
Wir fuhren an diesem Tag von unserer ersten Ferienwohnung im Norden zur zweiten Unterkunft im Süden der Insel. Die Strecke wurde so geplant, daß wir an möglichst vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten vorbeikamen.
One of the attractions is the road D268 from Solenzaro to Col de Bavella. The middle section of this route leads through a beautiful valley framed by red rocks.
Eine der Sehenswürdigkeiten ist die Straße D268 von Solenzaro hoch zum Col de Bavella. Der mittlere Abschnitt dieser Strecke führt durch ein schönes Tal, welches von roten Felsen eingerahmt ist.
At first, the road runs parallel to a river. In the background you can already see the red rocks.
Am Anfang führt die Straße noch parallel zu einem Fluß. Im Hintergrund sieht man bereits die roten Felsen.
We drove this road at the end of September, when the river was almost completely dried out in the summer due to lack of rainfall.
Wir fuhren diese Straße Ende September, da war der Fluß mangels Niederschläge im Sommer fast komplett ausgetrocknet.

Some pools invite you to cool down. Unfortunately, we had still some hours to drive, so we had to rely on the air conditioning of the rental car to keep fresh.
Einige Badestellen laden zur Abkühlung ein. Leider hatten wir noch ein paar Stunden fahrt vor uns, also mußte uns die Klimaanlage vom Mietwagen kühlen.
Despite the drought, trees and shrubs were beautifully green.
Trotz der Trockenheit waren Bäume und Sträucher schön grün.
The further we headed west, the more impressive the rocks became.
Je weiter wir Richtung Westen fuhren, umso imposanter wurden die Felswände.
We took a break in the shadow of the trees, ate a baguette, and gazed at the mountains.
Wir machten eine Pause im Schatten der Bäume, aßen ein Baguette und bestaunten die Berge.

The track is also popular among motorcyclists, the Youtube video below shows a ride on the D268.
