welcome to the twelfth part of our round trip over the island of Corsica, which leads us through the center of the island to the south.Hallo Steemit,
willkommen zum zwölften Teil unserer Rundreise über die Insel Korsika, welche uns durch die Mitte der Insel Richtung Süden führt.
After we stayed for a week in the apartment in Lama we drove to the south of Corsica to our second accommodation. A view back to the village of Pietralba.
Nach einer Woche Aufenthalt in der Ferienwohnung in Lama fuhren wir in den Süden von Korsika zu unserer zweiten im vorraus gebuchten Unterkunft. Ein Blick zurück auf die Ortschaft Pietralba.
My wife said goodbye to her favorite horse.
Meine Frau verabschiedete sich noch von ihrem Lieblingspferd.
From the north of Corsica to the south there are three streets. A road runs along the flat east coast. On the west side there is also a coastal road, which is very curvy and which we wanted to use on the return trip to the north. Since we did not like the boring road in the east, we drove through the middle of the island to the south.
Vom Norden Korsikas in den Süden gibt es drei Straßen. Eine Straße verläuft an der flachen Ostküste entlang. Auch auf der Westseite gibt es eine Küstenstraße, welche sehr kurvig ist und die wir bei der Rückfahrt in den Norden benutzen wollten. Da wir keine Lust auf die langweilige ebene Straße im Osten hatten, fuhren wir durch die Mitte der Insel in den Süden.
So we came back to the former island capital Corte. At a traffic light we had to wait, I immediately took the opportunity for this photo.
Wir kamen somit noch einmal an der früheren Inselhauptstadt Corte vorbei. An einer Ampel mussten wir warten, ich nutzte sofort die Gelegenheit für diesen Schnappschuß.
South of Corte, the road ran parallel to the railway line. The railway line runs over many bridges.
Südlich von Corte führte die Staße parallel der Bahnlinie entlang. Die Eisenbahnlinie führt hier über viele Brücken.
This bridge over the river Vecchio was designed by Gustave Eiffel, architect of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It is 140 meters long and was completed in 1892.
Diese Brücke über den Fluss Veccio wurde von Gustaf Eifel, dem Architekten des Eifelturms in Paris, geplant. Sie ist 140 Meter lang und wurde im Jahr 1892 fertiggestellt.

Ich habe diese beiden Fotos als Beifahrer aus dem fahrenden Auto gemacht.
The idyllic village of Vivario. From here we went east through the mountains to the coast.
Das idylische Dorf Vivario. Von hier aus fuhren wir Richtung Osten durch die Berge zur Küste.
Very close to the village are the ruins of an old fortress.
Ganz in der Nähe der Ortschaft befinden sich die Ruinen einer alten Festung.
A look back. At the bottom of the valley, the two bridges over the Veccio river.
Ein Blick zurück. Ganz unten im Tal die beiden Brücken über den Veccio-Fluss.
Close-up. In the foreground the road bridge, in the background the viaduct Eifel.

The road now became narrower and curser.
Die Straße wurde nun schmaler und kurviger.
On the road D344 between Ghisoni and Inzecca.
