We are in Ella, the penultimate station that the train in the mountains of Sri Lanka.
There is much to see, a lot to explore and to experience.
Since we, like everyone else, are hungry, we show you a local food, which tastes really delicious. The name of the court is Kottu.
Kottu consists of chopped Rotti (Fladenbrot) with vegetables and meat. If you're in Sri Lanka, you've probably heard the loud hacking in the kitchens, just then Kottu is always made. Because with two metal slices we cooked the vegetables with the Rotti and the meat together on the hot stove plate.
Super delicious the whole and pricey it is here in Ella at 200 Rupia (1.50 USD / 1.10 €) We have already eaten this a few times.
We were lucky just as we had come to the restaurant, the cook also made the dough. Wow, it was a huge dough! That's for a day, he told me.
We are always very open to new dishes in the countries we tour. So we get to know the country very tastefully well :-)
Wir sind in Ella, die vorletzte Station, die der Zug im Gebirge von Sri Lanka anfährt.
Hier gibt es viel zu sehen, viel zu erkunden und zu erleben.
Da wir, so wie jeder auch Hunger haben, zeigen wir Euch eine einheimische Speise, die richtig lecker schmeckt. Der Name des Gerichtes ist Kottu.
Kottu besteht aus gehacktem Rotti ( Fladenbrot ) mit Gemüse und Fleisch. Wenn du in Sri Lanka bist, hast du bestimmt in den Küchen schon mal das laute Hacken gehört, genau dann wird immer Kottu gemacht. Denn mit zwei Metall Scheiben wir das Gemüse mit dem Rotti und dem Fleisch zusammen auf der heißen Herdplatte gekocht.
Super lecker das ganze und preislich liegt es hier in Ella bei 200 Rupia ( 1,50 USD / 1,10 € ) Wir haben das nun schon ein paar mal gegessen.
Wir hatten Glück, gerade als wir ins Restaurant gekommen waren, hat der Koch auch den Teig hergestellt. Wow-war das ein rießiger Teig ! Das ist für einen Tag, hat er mir erzählt.
Wir sind immer sehr gerne offen für neue Gerichte in den Ländern, die wir bereisen. So lernen wir das Land auch geschmacklich sehr gut kennen :-)
