Dear friends, today we recovered from yesterday's shock. From Delhi we took the bus to Jaipur and found a good accommodation here. Today and tomorrow is Holi, the Indian colour festival.
Today, these haystacks are burned from straw everywhere and prayed around the haystack, sacrificing coconut and sweets. Then it started. The bale of hay goes up in flames and we enjoyed the warmth and light with the locals.
Tomorrow we're going downtown. There at the old buildings is the core where tomorrow morning everyone will throw the colours around.
We are really looking forward to what tomorrow will bring. In any case, we will not be spared by the colours. That's for sure.....
Nun liebe Freunde, heute haben wir uns von dem Schock von gestern schnell wieder erholt. Von Delhi sind wir mit dem Bus nach Jaipur gefahren und haben dann hier eine gute Unterkunft gefunden. Heute und morgen ist Holi, das indische Farbenfest.
Am heutigen Tag werden überall aus Stroh solche Heuhaufen verbrannt und vorher um den Heuhaufen gebetet und Opfer von Kokosnuss und Süßigkeiten gelegt. Danach ging es los. Der Heuballen geht in Flammen auf und wir haben mit den Einheimischen die Wärme und das Licht genossen.
Morgen geht es in die Innenstadt. Dort bei den alten Gebäuden ist der Kern wo morgen früh dann alle mit den Farben um sich schmeißen.
Wir sind total gespannt wie es morgen wird. Auf jeden Fall werden wir nicht von den Farben verschont bleiben. Das ist sicher....
