Introduction...
Hey Steemians! Hopefully you enjoyed the first part of my âLet me take you to Parisâ series.
Today we are going to continue where we left of last time â at the cathedral "Notre-Dame de Paris" - and see many more beautiful sights of the French capital.
Hallo Steemians! Ich hoffe, dass euch der erste Teil meiner âLet me take you to Parisâ Reihe gefallen hat.
Heute werden wir dort fortsetzten, wo wir das letzte Mal aufgehört haben â bei der Kathedrale "Notre-Dame de Paris" - und uns einige weitere wunderschöne SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten der französischen Hauptstadt ansehen.
The national monument of France, the PanthĂ©onâŠ
A few hundred meters south of the cathedral another marvelous masterpiece of old architecture can be found â âThe PanthĂ©onâ. This is a huge monument built on the hill âMontagne Sainte-GeneviĂšveâ. The 83m high building was built as a church from 1764 till 1790 â however it then was used as a national memorial by the leaders of French Revolution.
Under the huge hall there are many graves of famous people including Marie Curie (no, luckily not the @curie from steemit), Voltaire, Victor Hugo and many more. Due to respect, I didnât take pictures of the graves.
Ein paar hundert Meter sĂŒdlich der Kathedrale befindet sich ein anderes schillerndes MeisterstĂŒck antiker Architektur â âDas PanthĂ©onâ. Dieses ist ein riesiges Monument welches auf dem HĂŒgel âMontagne Sainte-GeneviĂšveâ errichtet wurde. Das 83 Meter hohe GebĂ€ude wurde zwischen 1764 und 1790 als Kirche errichtet â nach der Fertigstellung wurde es jedoch als nationales Denkmal der französischen Revolution genutzt.
Unter der riesigen Halle befinden sich die GrĂ€ber berĂŒhmter Persönlichkeiten wie Marie Curie (nein, glĂŒcklicherweise nicht steemitâs @curie), Voltaire, Victor Hugo und viele weitere. Aus Respekt habe ich keine Bilder der GrĂ€ber gemacht.
When you walk inside you are stunned â it is just so massive! Massive and beautiful! It is hard to imagine that this wonder was built over 200 years ago without the help of modern machines.
Wenn man das GebĂ€ude betritt ist man geflasht â es ist einfach so riesig! Riesig und wunderschön! Schwer vorzustellen, dass all dies ohne die Hilfe moderner GerĂ€te erbaut wurde.
At the end of the PanthĂ©on you can find an impressive sculpture â the âStatue of La Convention Nationaleâ. Maybe one day something like this will be built for Satoshi Nakamoto?
Hm, I guess not. We donât even know his face yet.
Am hinteren Ende des PanthĂ©ons befindet sich die massive Skulptur âStatue of La Convention Nationaleâ. Vielleicht wird sowas auch einmal fĂŒr Satoshi Nakamoto erbaut?
Hm, wahrscheinlich eher nicht. Noch kennen wir ja nichteinmal dessen Gesicht.
Jardin du Luxembourg...
After visiting the Pantheon, we needed a rest and therefore walked to the huge park âJardin du Luxembourgâ. While relaxing in the sun we enjoyed the view back to the Pantheon.
Nach dem Besuch des Pantheons brauchten wir eine Pause und gingen deshalb in den riesigen Park â__Jardin du Luxembourg::â. WĂ€hrend wir dort etwas Sonne getankt haben, genossen wir den Blick auf das zurĂŒckliegende Pantheon.
It was such a nice view that even the sculpture couldnât resist taking a few selfies.
Es war so malerisch schön, dass nicht einmal die Statuen auf Selfies verzichten konnten.
Big, bigger, Versailles ...
The next day we traveled 22km outside of Paris (around thirty minutes by train) in order to visit the famous palace âVersaillesâ. Since I come from a country with quite a history, I have seen more than one palace so far. But let me tell you â Versailles canât be compared to any of them. It is just a different league. Everything is bigger and shinier there.
*Am nĂ€chsten Tag sind wir 22 Kilometer aus Paris rausgefahren (ca. 30 Minuten mit dem Zug) um uns das berĂŒhmte Schloss âVersaillesâ anzusehen. Da ich selbst aus einem Land mit teils schillernder Vergangenheit komme, habe ich schon so einige PalĂ€ste gesehen. Aber glaubt mir â nichts ist vergleichbar mit dem was Versailles bietet. Es ist einfach eine Liga drĂŒber. Alle ist gröĂer und schillernder. *
Even the gate to the palace is golden. Unfortunately, the guy in front of it was so fascinated that he wouldnât leave.
Sogar das Eingangsdort ist golden. Leider hat es dem Typen davor so sehr gefallen, dass er nicht aus dem Foto gehen wollte.
Since there were tons of people waiting to enter the building we decided to explore the back and the huge garden first. This is how the building looks from behind.
Da die Menschenschlange vor dem GebĂ€udeeingang sehr lange war haben wir beschlossen, zuerst die RĂŒckseite und den riesigen Park zu erkunden. Dieses Bild zeigt das Schloss von hinten.
As I told you before, everything is huge there. Just look at this well sized spring and the endless park area behind it.
Wie gesagt ist dort alles riesig. Seht euch einfach den Springbrunnen und das gigantische Parkareal dahinter an.
If you are a fan of nature and love trees your wishes also will be fulfilled.
FĂŒr die Naturliebhaber unter uns hat Versailles viele schöne BĂ€ume zu bieten.
Another amazing thing about Versailles are the endless avenues. I guess you could just stay inside Versailles and still find plenty of running possibilities for my 100 SBD âFifty runs till Mayâ challenge.
On the other side, if you live in Versailles, 100 SBD might not be relevant for you.
In den Parkanlangen Versailles finden sich scheinbar unendlich lange Alleen. Ziemlich sicher könnte man einfach dortbleiben und nur auf diesen die LĂ€ufe fĂŒr meine 100 SBD âFifty Runs till Mayâ Challenge absolvieren.
Auf der anderen Seite sind 100 SBD fĂŒr einen Bewohner Versailles wahrscheinlich nur ein besseres Trinkgeld.
After hours of walking around we got back to the main building. And guess what, there were not many more people waiting to get inside. So, we got our student IDâs (those allow you to enter free of charge) and entered the building.
It was really crowded inside, so I couldnât take many good pictures. But I got some.

Nach unserem stundenlangen Spaziergang kamen wir zurĂŒck zum HauptgebĂ€ude. Und siehe da, die Menschenschlange vor dem Eingang hatte sich aufgelöst. Wir nĂŒtzten also unsere Chance und zĂŒckten unsere Studentenausweise, mit denen man gratis in das Schloss kommt.
Innen war es ziemlich ĂŒberfĂŒllt, deswegen konnte ich eher wenig Fotos machen. Ein paar habe ich aber.
WĂŒrde es euch gefallen, auf diesem edlen Tisch eure steemit BeitrĂ€ge zu verfassen?
In my opinion, most of the stuff just looks to overwhelming. Be honest, who thinks he can sleep here? I definitely couldnât!
Meiner Meinung nach erdrĂŒckt einen der ganze Glamour fast. Seid ehrlich, wer könnte hier zum Beispiel ruhig schlafen? Ich sicher nicht!
After we walked outside, we took a view back to the amazing palace.
Nachdem wir wieder drauĂen waren, haben wir noch einmal auf den wundervollen Palast zurĂŒckgeblickt.
But who built all this?
Well, I donât know. I just know that King Ludwig the 14th (the so-called king of the sun) was the one who had it made this fancy in the late 17th century.
Of course, there also is a sculpture of him.
Wer hat all das gebaut?
Ich weiĂ es nicht. Ich weiĂ nur, dass König Ludwig XIV (der sogenannte âSonnenkönigâ) derjenige war, der es Ende des 17. Jahrhunderts so prunkvoll ausbauen lieĂ.
NatĂŒrlich gibt es auch von ihm eine Statue.
