Yesterday we did about the most touristy thing my city has on offer. We went to a lookout at the top of the ridge that surveys the landscape and ate Munkki (sort of like sugared donuts) and had a coffee. The city is built on a bridge between two large lakes and the height difference between made it possible to generate electricity and power industry.
From up here, the city looks very different.
Since @galenkp and his wife have been travelling for a few weeks through England seeing a lot of things, their trip to Finland has been more relaxed and about getting to see some of the normal summer life here. Swimming in lakes, walking through forests and just generally enjoying what is a very unusually warm summer.
Today, we are going to head out to a strawberry farm and even though they may not have strawberries anymore due to the heat, there is a cafe out there we can have a little bit of breakfast at and enjoy some different views. My family haven't been to this place either so it is an adventure for us all which makes it a bit more special since we can experience something new together.
