Wat Rong Khun, a magnificent temple with wonderful arts, in Chiang Rai province, in the North of Thailand

As I told you before in my old posts, Wat Rong Khun was designed and built by Professor Chalermchai Kositpipat who is one of the significant Thai artists. His determination is to create beautiful and unusual works of art with Lanna culture.

Therefore, all buildings and every corner in Wat Rong Khun are magnificent with wonderful arts. The buildings are mostly in white color which are unique and look outstanding. That’s why Wat Rong Khun is also well-known among Thai people as a “white temple”.

In front of the entrance, you will find a large pond which makes the atmosphere look cool and refreshing.

There is a long walkway, with the beautiful and spectacular art of the stucco pattern, leading to the temple.

It seems that Ubosot transforms the temple into a heavenly city. It looks as if a heaven castle on earth that humans can touch.

There is a golden stucco sculpture at the entrance and the Dhamma courtyard which is located in the back area.

There is an exhibition of arts.

Most of the sculptures in Wat Rong Khun have Buddhist meanings.

Even the temple's toilet building, it's also beautiful with marvelous designs in golden color.

Visiting Wat Rong Khun, you will be impressed by the wonderful arts and relaxing your body and mind as well.

p.s. Chiang Rai province is now facing severe floods. We pray for them. (This trip was approx. 2 months ago.)
