Rubicon Point and Emerald Bay
No visit to Lake Tahoe is complete without a visit to Rubicon Point and Emerald Bay.
The incredible altitude gain is a grim reminder we are all frail human beings ;-)
I really enjoy Rubicon Trail because it hugs the lake and the lake is always in view as you walk from Bliss park to Emerald Bay.
The history here is quite something, and I invite you to look up the history of Lake Tahoe and Emerald Bay since there is a castel down there and so forth!
This rock looks carved. It very well could be, as the walls around Rubicon were obviously chiseled to allow for foot trails, just a few feet away from this rock.
As we look out across the lake from Rubicon trail, we can see South Lake, and the marina where I am staying.
Up above on the mountain, is Heavenly Valley Ski runs coming down the mountain.
And FINALLY, Back to Freshies bar deck for more beer by the lake!
The last pic is non-alcholic Ginger Kombucha (fermented and very bubbly)... there was also a pink one last time, Strawberry Lemon but they were out of it the next day.
