BEATING THE HEAT AT SAN LORENZO DAM

image
(The water is indeed inviting!)

HELLO EVERYONE!

My weekend adventures have just started and last Sunday, I and my Pals went on a motorcycle roadtrip without even knowing where to go. That's totally impromptu, but it is effective rather than our planned trips that didn't happen. Lol. Like what I have said we never spoke in advance where to go but we managed to redirect our engines to Buguey, Cagayan (two towns away from Aparri, our home) and passed by a signage of San Lorenzo Dam.

The San Lorenzo Dam is 3-4 kilometers away from the highway. We just followed the intersecting road, a little bit topsy-turvy road and we were able to reach the place after 10 minutes. We were filled with dust but the beauty of the place is mesmerizing and refreshing, away from the noise and smoke of the city.

San Lorenzo Dam caters the Banurbur Creek Irrigation System channeling the fields of the town. It was developed and turned into a simple recreational area.

It was a cheap but worth it adventure. We only paid 20 pesos each upon entering the place and we were so excited to plunge ourselves into the water.

Aside from the dam, there are also pools in three different levels which are filled with natural spring waters. The tail of the area are limestone formations which are attractive because of the green water that soothed our eyes!

I personally enjoyed the cold water of the pool that reflects the dark blue green color of the trees surrounding the pool area. It is 3-4 feet deep and children can go on the lower levels. Cottages are also avilable in minimal amount.

I and my Pals also tried the flowing waters of the dam that look like a falls. We sat on the center table on the upper tail of the water and went hungry. We bought Halo-halo (summer delicacy in the Philippines) to replenish ourselves and played again with the water

I love the photos! Very instagrammable! Lol

It was my first time to reach the place and I tell you it was fun and exciting! The place is a jewel around the fields and forests, away from toxic chemicals of the city. Aside from that you find happiness in just minimal amount, that is if you are adventurous and fed up with chlorine-infused water of swimming pools.

With that I hope to share with you again more of my adventures next time.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR DROPPING BY

GODBLESS!
