Characteristics in Seon Am Sa Temple : The Trees

The beauty of the trees seems the common characteristics among Korean temples.
As posted in previous post, the trees by the road were exceptionally beautiful with their colors.
But unlike other temples, there were special beauty of the trees in this temple.

The first one I’d like to introduce is the pine in the temple.
There was a peculiar appearance of the pine on the ground. It looked like leaning on the ground.
They were protecting this pine on the ground as the symbol of this temple.

The second trees were on the road in the back yard to the mountain.
The trees were lined by the road and it looked like the soldiers.

The third was the tea tree. Seon Am Sa is very famous for the tea.
The green tea in the temple was very important for the spiritual cultivation.
The green tea was preventing the monks from sleeping which seemed the strongest enemy in the spiritual cultivation.

The forth was the japanese apricot tree in the temple.
This tree was estimated 650 years old.
In my guess, it must be the one of the oldest japanese apricot in Korea.
The Japanese Apricot was believed as the messenger of Spring.
It was Autumn, so it was sorry I could not see the flowers of this tree.
