The Magellan's Cross in Cebu City, Philippines

The Magellan's Cross is probably the most important historical marker in Cebu City, Philippines.

Trivia: It is a Christian's cross planted by Spanish and Portuguese explorers as ordered by Ferdinand Magellan upon arriving in Cebu on March 1521. It is housed in chapel next to Basilica Minore de Santo Nino. A plaque below the cross describes the original crucifix as encased by this recent wood to protect it.

Whether true or not, the cross and the chapel remain a popular pilgrimage site for the locals and tourists like me.

Have a nice day everyone.
