This is the place to go to If you need a break from civilization. Caburé beach is located in Lençois Maranhenses National Park (40 km boat ride from Barreirinhas), at the Preguiça River's estuary. With its rustic bungalows and white sand, time seems to go really slow here. This was one of the best places I've been in Brazil, I just loved the fact there was no mobile phone signal and the lights went off at 10 pm sharp.
