Bucket- List /Salar de Uyuni / Bolivia

I have been only once in South America. This is one place which I found on the internet. After the James Bond movie: Quantum Solace, I looked the nature gems of Bolivia. This is how I found this salt desert which is really amazing! I need to see it with my own eyes!

Some information about the place:
Salar de Uyuni is the world's largest and most unusual surface area of the world. It can be defined as salt marsh or salty desert, as it is usually dry but occasionally covered by a few cm of water. It lies in Bolivia, in the southwestern part of the country, between the Andes Mountains, in an area of 10 582 km² (almost 18 times bigger than lake Balaton, which is the largest lake in Hungary), at an altitude of 3656 m.

The weather is very dry and very windy. The daytime temperature can reach 40 ° C and the soil temperature is 60 ° C; but at night it may be -10 ° C.

The soil is covered with salt in 11 layers and some 120 m in thickness, and plaster is still present. In Uyuni, some 64 billion tonnes of salt have been accumulated, of which 25,000 tonnes are mined each year. This area is one of the world's largest lithium stocks.
