The Park Madurodam - miniature Holland

Madurodam Park is considered to be one of the most popular entertainment in the Hague. Madurodam is a Dutch city in miniature, scale 1: 25. It was opened in 1952.

The level of realism in a miniature Park is off scale. Many little Dutch can be seen on the streets of this town, and depending on the weather, they are dressed differently: in the summer-in t — shirts, and when it's colder — in sweaters and jackets.

In General, the format of Madurodam-a mini-city, but it can be seen quite a variety of landscapes. It's the Hague and the Binnenhof, Amsterdam airport Schiphol and the port of Rotterdam, and traditional pile houses, and fields of tulips and windmills.

Plus, the special charm of Madurodam is its interactivity. Visitors can independently operate the barrier dam constructions in Oosterschelde, to load the containers on a freighter in the port of Rotterdam, to fly with the plane in Schiphol or to make a bid at the flower auction FloraHolland.

Through Madurodam has approximately 4 km of the railway. About 50 thousand miniature lanterns were installed. It is estimated that the mini-cars that drive on the models of Madurodam, annually pass about 14 thousand miles. This number is close to the average for Dutch people who own these cars.
