Darjeeling Tour

When you hear the name of Darjeeling, you can think of the streets covered with snow and one lustrous evening. Darjeeling, a well-known city in West Bengal. Darjeeling, a city of about 3,000 meters high, 63 kilometers away from Siliguri. Like the city Shimla, there are many different homes built on the hills.

I went to Darjeeling in April 2009. You can called it honeymoon because it was my first tour after marriage. It was a wonderful tour and i still feeling thrilled to remembering that time. It was a group tour because we are travelling 4 persons, me, my hubby, my hubby's friend and his wife were travelling with us.

We start our journey from Bangladesh airport to Calcutta airport by jet airways. But unfortunately we back in Bangladesh airport from Calcutta because when we reach Calcutta airport, investigation officer found in our passport that we have no permission to go India by air, we can only go India by road. It was a frustrating moment. I was so excited for this tour. So i'm feeling sad.

However, it is a pleasure that we did not stop our journey. Then we start our journey by road on a jeep to India via Rangpur, Burimari Border. From there we reached Shiliguri and from Shiliguri we take a jeep and start our journey to Darjeeling. The roads on the way were very nice and terrible.

This picture was taken in Peace Pagoda. It is a Japanese temple located at a 10 minutes driving distance from the Darjeeling town center. The temple is also known as the Nipponzan Myohoji Buddhist Temple. The two storied white building was built in a traditional Japanese style in the year 1972.
