La Roque Gageac is one of France's most lovely towns. In a dazzling position on the north bank of the Dordogne River, and sponsored by a precarious slope/precipices, with little to recommend that much has changed there over the most recent 300 years, La Roque-Gageac is genuinely the ideal picture postcard town. It is around 8km from the notable town of Sarlat.
