Tunnels of Vinh Moc, Hien Luong Flag Tower and Truong Son National Cemetry (31.11.2017)

History, history, history. Today was full of Vietnamese History. From going through the Tunnels of Vinh Moc to the former border between North and South Vietnam to the cemetery.

The tunnels are definitely worth going. It is a very authentic experience going inside there. You can see pictures of how the people lived and how they managed to survive in there. It is very intense if you turn of the flashlight and just stay in the darkness. The tunnels are not very high and walking inside there was a challenge. I am 1,84 meters and most Vietnamese aren't so for them it must have been easier.

When you get out at the other side you have an amazing view at the ocean.

About 16km further is the former border between North and South Vietnam. It is an important marking point in Vietnamese history.

About 20km to the north there is Truong Son National Cemetery. I don't know who is buried there, but I assume it was the Vietnamese freedom fighters during who died during the second Vietnam War.

Another amazing day is ending and I am really tired. I hope to get enough sleep tonight. Haven't slept very well the previous nights and driving for such a long time every day is exhausting.

Safe travel
