About Buriganga :
A river affected by tidal flows flowing south and west of Dhaka city. The Mughals were shocked to see the tide of this river. The river named after Buriganga has a traditional story. In ancient times, a flow of the river Ganges fell into the Bay of Bengal through Dhaleshwari. Slowly, due to the change in its course, its communication with the Ganges was completely isolated. Later this isolated stream was called Buriganga.
