The largest landscape sculpture.

Northumberland is The largest landscape sculpture in the world. It is made in the form of a lying, naked woman from an empty rock, earth, stones, bushes and other plants.

Its dimensions: width-253 meters, length-400 meters, in the highest places the sculpture of a woman reaches 34 meters (the height of her bust — 30 meters). The cost of works is $ 4.5 million.

The English artist and designer Charles Jenks and the Banks Mining Group team led by Viscount Matthew Ridley worked on the creation of the landscape sculpture.

The main material for the creation of this exhibition was spent slag from the largest coal mine in the UK, located near the place where the "lay" lady. According to the authors of the sculpture, this should remind of the harm to human activity caused by nature and the scope of coal mining in this region of the state.

As well as the locals, who called the big landscape sculpture "pagan symbol", the local authorities considered it ridiculous and called it"fat slag".
