Araya is a Venezuelan city, located in the westernmost sector of the Araya Peninsula, in the northeastern state of Sucre. It is the capital of the Cruz Salmerón Acosta Municipality.
Araya is an arid and dry town, world famous for its beautiful and comforting beaches. In antiquity was located a Spanish fortress on the banks of them.
The fastest way to get to Araya is by taking a small boat or bay known as "Tapaíto or Palita", from the city of Cumaná, from which they are about 70 km away. You can also arrive by car.

Castle of Araya.

The Royal Fortress of Santiago de Arroyo de Araya, known as the Castle of Araya is a fortification of stones and wood located on a hill in the town since 1630.
The fortification was built to protect the Araya Peninsula from incursions by the Dutch fleet that intended to occupy the salt works in Spanish hands By January 1625 the first bulwark had been built of what is considered the most important fortress in the province of Venezuela.
Shortly after it was built, the port of Guamache was enabled near the salt mine, which facilitated the traffic of provisions and defense of the castle. The castle was partially blown up in 1762.
On October 31, 1960, the castle ruins were declared a National Historic Monument with restricted access for tourists.

Posada MAGGY House In Punta Arenas.

Located in front of the beautiful beaches of Punta Arenas, in the Sucre state. It is located this inn that offers privileged attention, a family atmosphere and the best sunsets that you could appreciate.

Run by its owner, this inn has extensive relaxation areas. Nothing better than having a cup of coffee/tea when you wake up watching the beautiful sunrise of Punta Arenas from a small balcony in the open air.

If you like nature you will be fascinated when observing the amount of flowers they have in the garden, during the stay you will notice that Mrs. Maggy or her son (who also personally attends the inn) get up very early to water the flowers; since they consider that one of the biggest attractions that they can offer their visitors is that they feel comfortable and happy to see the variety and tonalities of them.

It should be noted that they have many palm trees and some extension chairs to lie down and enjoy a quiet day listening to the waves of the sea.

You will notice that the temperature is rising and it is getting hotter. There is no need to worry, you just have to go down some small stairs to get to the beach. SO IS.

The beach is almost private and completely neat, has crystal clear water and sometimes you can observe different species of fish. When you are sitting on the seashore with a hat and a pair of glasses you should not worry about anything else.

If you bury your hand in the sand and then move it, you will notice that you are holding "Chipi Chipi", these are a species of edible marine mollusk of the Donacidae family. It is eaten fresh or cooked with rice or in broth.

Definitely my favorite part of seeing at Casa Maggy Inn are the sunsets, enjoying an evening with the people that makes your life special while the sun begins to hide is something indescribable and incomparable.
The excellent service, the beauty of the inn and the proximity to the beach are the perfect complement you need to spend an unforgettable vacation.
