Exploring Local Treasures While Travelling

A place that evokes nostalgia and makes me feel as if I’m sitting in someone else’s home, aptly named ‘La Sala’ (The Living Room) owned by Tito and his wife Maricruz.

Tito had the vision to make a café with a cosy and comforting interior, as if you were in your own home. Maricruz decorated the entire place with ornaments and decor from local markets, homes of friends, to their very own personal collection.

A piece of someone’s home has collectively made it into a home for everyone. Every board game I played growing up plus many more that I’d never heard of can be found on one of the shelves.

Books accompany the board games, and incredible paintings cover the walls, courtesy of Maricruz, who has Majors in Arts and Psychology. Tito’s profession is Marketing, and together they have created a unique coffee hub that welcomes all types of creatives, individuals and the coffee lovers.

The food and coffees are excellent. The music always seems to be selected perfectly for the mood, and the sofas make me stay and enjoy for hours.
