My cousin and I went to explore Taipei 101! Taipei 101 is the highest building in Taiwan, measuring 1,667 feet, with 101 floors. It cost $1.8 billion (in US dollars to construct).
My cousin, even played tourist with me, and we decided to purchase tickets to view the observatory deck. It only took, 44 seconds to reach the observatory deck which is on the 89th floor! That's 55.2 feet per second!
When we got to the top, we had an epic view of Taiwan! WOW! Take a look.
Afterwards, we even went to visit the damper. This golden ball, is built in the center of Taipei 101, to help stabilize the building during earthquakes. As the recent Earthquake events in Taiwan, having this in such a tall building is very important structurally. The damper works, by isolating the building from the earth, using counterforce, which reduces the energy of the earthquake.
