PLACES TO VISIT IN NEW YORK CITY FOR FREE

If you are looking for one of the most diverse and exciting places to visit in the United States, New York City is the place to go. There are so many attractions and fun places to visit, see, and experience.

To access a few of these areas will require you to pay some money, but there are more than a few places you can visit in New York City for free.

Flushing Meadows-Corona Park

This is known as New York City’s second most prominent park, which showcases the massive steel globe known as the Unisphere which was crafted for the 1964 World’s Fair. But for sports as well as unrivaled culture, visit the New York Hall of Science, Citi Field, and Arthur Ashe. Flushing Meadows also portrays gently rolling green fields which contain a zoo, a skate park, a boating lake, a hockey center as well as a barbecue area.

Battery Park

This is a green space that spans 25 acres just like Manhattan’s fragile fingernail. It is neatly plotted with memorials, monuments, sculptures, gardens, along with an exceptional waterfront views from the esplanade. Battery Park was named because of the battery cannons that were once housed in that region. The park is now home to Castle Clinton whose fortified walls protect summer concerts.

Brooklyn Bridge Park

Brooklyn Bridge Park is not like any of the other city parks that were built to imitate rustic fields or to conserve serene woodland. Since it debuted, it has become one of the most popular places to visit in New York City.

Brooklyn Bridge Park was a project that transformed a portion of Brooklyn’s waterfront into an 85-acre spread. A few sections accommodate other attractions like a 1920s merry-go-round that was restored – known as Jane’s Carousel – as well as riverside promenades with stunning Manhattan views.

Bronx Museum of the Arts

This multicultural museum was founded in 1971 and features over 800 works, thanks to the 20th and 21st century artists who are of African, Asian, Latino or Bronx ancestry. At irregular intervals, the museum provides family programming.

Central Park

This is one of the best places to go if you like strolling and some peace, thanks to the 38-acre wilderness area. You can enjoy the streams, rocks, and winding trails of this area with a storied history.

Chrysler Building

If you called this glimmering multistory building New York City’s most incredible skyscraper, not many people would deny that fact. The triangle-shaped windows in its crown are bordered with lights which create a spectacular effect at nighttime. This Art Deco architecture also exudes a moneyed elegance that is often linked with old New York.

East River State Park

Otherwise known as Williamsburg waterfront, the East River State Park offers a fantastic view of Manhattan and is engulfed by new condominiums. Families can unwind in the midst of the historic rail yard relics and is a fun place to be during summer for film series as well as family-friendly music. However, you may not be allowed to ride a bicycle in this space, so be sure to leave it at home.
