Steemit Cancer Free Road Trip Journal #6 - Roswell, New Mexico

We passed right through Texas to get to Roswell, New Mexico, which was cool because when I was a kid I had a strange obsession with aliens, that led into an obsession with conspiracy research by the time I was in highschool, so I guess you could say that the UFO culture kind of kickstarted my awakening.

There were a few things I noticed about Roswell right off the bat, it seemed like a small town, and the locals all seemed to participate in the alien thing, at least the business owners did anyway. There was also a heavy military presence there, and a large military base right in the middle of town, but otherwise, it just seemed like a small desert tourist spot.

All of the storefronts had something interesting outside.

Even the McDonalds had an alien theme, but of course, we didn't eat there.

The most interesting thing to see in town was the UFO Museum, which had a bunch of cool displays that offered tons of research and insight about the original Roswell crash. They also had a massive library filled with hundreds, if not thousands of boxes of documents, books, recordings, and interviews. All of this information was open to the public, so if someone was researching a particular story, they could go there to check out the archives.

I am currently on road trip to celebrate my recovery from  cancer,  and the whole trip is funded by steem, which I discussed in my  first road trip journal.  Next will be my trip to the caverns in Albuquerque, New Mexico!  Thanks  so  much  to everyone who has helped me on steemit to make this  possible!
