Explore Vietnam: The Mekong Delta (VIDEO)

The Mekong Delta in Vietnam is a mighty labyrinth of murky swamps, winding rivers and charming floating markets. Residents line its shores and live a life on the water and travel primarily by boat. The Delta begins its journey across Asia in China, and stretches 2,700 miles south. It is the 12th largest river in the world and flows through China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar. The Mekong River basin is home to 60 million people, many of which are fisherman and farmers scattered throughout numerous small villages. Visiting this region offers a unique cultural experience and a timeless perspective on lifestyle and heritage.

This video was taken in Can Tho, Vietnam, one of southern Vietnam’s most significant riverfront hubs.
