Travel Blog Munich to Italy #9

Hello my fellow Steemians

As promised, here is the record of our cycle tour through Italy.

On day three we have a wonderful breakfast in our Bozen hotel and leave about 8:30 for our day of cycling. We want to get off the beaten track and away from the highway and the noise so we choose to leave the main valley and follow the so called wine trail to the Kalterner See. The only problem is we have to cross a hill to get there.

It’s an elevation of about 200metres on a serene track through woodland and it’s pretty easy to push yourself up.
Then the vineyards start, it’s going uphill still but the views are worth the effort

Once we’re over the hill we briefly cross the main tourist streams of bus travel vineyard tours but then turn away to the lake and are back in nature again.

We pass the lake and it’s back to cycling uphill into the hills full of grapevines
We have coffee and cake as a late lunch break in Tramino

We make a quick decision of booking a hotel two villages over in Cortina and ride there along the vineyard trails as opposed to the bottom of the valley which means... you guessed it more uphill cycling we end up with about 400 meters of elevation in total and about six hours in the saddle but in good spirits.
We sit on the quiet main piazza for dinner drinking local white wine and feeling we have finally arrived in Italy.

see you tomorrow
