Leidseplein
At the Leidseplein you can find terraces. Pubs and clubs, restaurants a cinema and more. I will tell in upcomming posts more in detail about these places. For now let's continue our walking tour.

Leidseplein was the starting point of the road to Leiden. Visitors from outside the city could park here there horsecars before entering the city. Leidse refers to Leiden (city in the Netherlands) and plein means square. So this is why it is called Leidseplein.

Close to the Leidseplein you can find the Hard Rock Cafe. It is situated at the Max Euweplein (Max Euwesquare). At the entrance of this Square I can recommend (if you like Japanese food) Restaurant Hosokawa. Every table has it's own cook. The food is made fresh for you and come in small quantities. I felt very saturated while I even did not eat much. We spend like 80 - 100 Euro per person. The food and the experience is worth it. http://www.hosokawa.nl/food/

From this little square you can walk in 2 minutes to the Vondelpark. This park dates from 1865. It is a very popular park where people come to relax. You will see people chilling in the grass. Bicycles that will pass you. When the sun shines this park is full of people.

I hope that in meanwhile the weather gets sunny so I can go back there to take some new pictures from within the park and tell you a bit more about it.

See you in the next episode. :)
