Dudhsagar waterfalls- Mollem Goa

The dudhsagar waterfalls is the queen of all waterfalls in India. It literally means “Sea of Milk”. It is located in Mollem National Park and is on the Goa & Karnataka border.It is a four tiered waterfall located on the mandovi river. & is the fifth tallest waterfalls in India. The area is surrounded with thick forest & rich biodiversity. The western rail line passes though the waterfall and the view when the rail crosses the falls is quite spectacular. The route to the waterfalls is a trip in itself as there are no roads available. You have to literally trek through the woods to reach there. But now a days there are limited safari trips also arranged for the same. The view of the waterfalls is spectacular and is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in India. It is an all season waterfall but the best time to visit being in June- September when the waterfalls is in full flow and at its best.The journey to the waterfall is quite exhausting & have to be well planned. Besides it is one of the most dangerous waterfalls in India where many people have died due to drowning. One has to be very sure before entering the water as there are strong undercurrents & slippery stones. But all this risks and hardships together can’t stop people from visiting this place. Such is the beauty of the dudhsagar waterfalls. There are treks arranged by many parties every year to the waterfalls. It is around 90 kms from Panjim & 60 kms from Margao.
