Copa Airlines is having a United week

Copa Airlines, the flag carrier of Panama, is having a rough week. You may have been unfamiliar with this Central American airline with only a dozen U.S. destinations until the name popped up in the news over the last several days.

July 25, 2017 A mother was allegedly removed from a Copa flight after handing her exclusive business class blanket to her child seated in economy. Here's the flyertalk article with a video of the incident.

August 2, 2017 A teenager opened the emergency exit door and jumped from the plane shortly after a flight from Panama City landed in San Francisco. He was arrested on the tarmac and was taken for a mental health evaluation. You can read the full store here.

Despite these two incidents, Copa's stock is up 39% year-to-date and analysts are expecting a strong Q2 earnings report on August 9. You can also expect to see Copa's name pop up in the news again in December when the airline adds its thirteenth U.S. destination with service to Denver.
