Sorry to say Kasol isnt the same anymore. I run a small hotel in Manali and go to Kasol every few days. Its a shame what we Indians have done to this place (in a bad bad way). Its difficult to find peace here.
PS: Kasol isnt 8000 ft above mean sea level, its more like 5200 ft. Do Google ;)
PPS: Malana too has shut down 99% of outsiders and the cafes and the hotels. Peace
