Faroe Islands summertime part 2

Summers in the faroes are magic. because of the location - in the middle of the ocean, the weather is very changing and unpredictable. there is sunshine in one place, a few kilometres from there, there's foggy, maybe even rainy. You can experience all four seasons in 10 minutes. it's light out before you wake up, and when you go to bed. and if you're staying up to 4-5 am it's light again. All the traditional events, and also new events has you booked up every weekend all summer, and the relatively good weather has you climbing mountains and walking "undiscovered" places.

The faroese people mostly chose to travel south during the winter or spring/fall, mostly because we all want to enjoy the best season in the faroes. maybe also because we're not used to the heat and don't like the thought of 40 degrees celsius because it rarely hits 20 degrees celsius in the faroes.

Snow lays heavy in the hights. From the first mountaintop-snow in october to late may, maybe even a bit into june, you can see spots of snow in the the gullys of the mountains.

This photo is one my brother took on his eveninghikes with some passionate hikers from USA and Norway. It's taken at 11.50 pm, the 23rd of May, which is two days before the first day of summer, and still one month until longest day.

I've written about this place in another post of mine, if you want to know more about Cape Enniberg
