The world’s largest salt flat is Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia. I traveled there a few years ago. It was a really nice trip i made it with my boyfriend, my dad, my brother and one of my best friends. Bolivia has beautiful landscapes but it is a little bit hard to travel because of the lack of customer service. Anyway it is a beautiful country and I enjoyed the trip.
Playing with perspective
Salar de Uyuni is one of the best places for playing with perspective. Everybody wants to get a funny pic.
That's me trying to step on my brother and my dad. I wanted to take more funny pics but it was not enough time.
Just Playing
The only people who can extract the salt are the miners of the Colchani cooperative (a local cooperative). They mould the salt into piles and let it dry.
Incahuasi Island and the giant cactus
In the salt flats there is live. The rock island called Incahuasi is full of cactus. The view is unique.
I've never seen cactus as big and thick
A hotel made of salt
We spent the night at a small hotel made completely of salt, even the bed.
Our room. There are no private bathroom and you have to pay a extra fee for hot water.
All the pictures were taken by my boyfriend.
Bolivia and Salar de Uyuni surprise in many ways. I loved their wild landscapes but sometimes i felt that traveling in Bolivia was a little hard because there is a lot of informality, more than in Peru. Anyway it is worth to visit and I hope you have Bolivia in your list.
