If the mountains are calling, you got to go! ⛰ 📸

"The mountains are calling and I must go." - John Muir

I have been sick this week and I used the time browsing through old photos and reveling in memories. Amongst other things, I found some pictures of our hiking/climbing trip to the Lienzer Dolomites last summer.

This is the mountain hut we stayed in. It's called Dolomitenhütte. As you can see, the hut was built right on the edge of a 50 meter deep abyss. Sleeping there is a really special experience. One of the sleeping rooms is called aerie - and the name is the program. It lies directly on the edge with windows to the floor and a wonderful panoramic view of the local mountains of Lienz. But be warned, sleeping there you should not be afraid of heights... 😉

From there we made a hiking trip to the Karlsbaderhütte in order to go climbing there. It's only a two-hour hike, but with all the climbing gear on the back, it's been a tough challenge. But the effort was worth it, cause we were rewarded with this amazing view....

Bathing our tried feed in this gorgeous mountain lake charged our batteries for the climbing adventure that awaited us. Trust me, climbing in front of this panorama was one of the best experiences we have ever made.

Coming back home to the Dolomitenhütte that evening, we were exhausted, but happy through and through. So if the mountains are calling you as well, I got to go. It will be worth it! 😊

I hope this small travel blog-post motivated you to explore the beauty of the mountains as well.

P.S.: We are still looking for another mountain adventure this year. So if you have any suggestions/ insider tips on where to go, please let us know! 😊
