...ever got lost and drove waaaay to far? I did, but here are some of the sights of the Bald Hill's of Northern California...
Redwood Creek Overlook
The Bald Hill's are named that as they are hill prairies in what was once deep in the heart of Coastal Redwoods. This area became a place of commerce for the Lyons family and the growing communities of settlers in the area. You can still hike to the original homestead-while it is still there; poachers love already planned redwood boards. I past that point on my wayward adventures-but here are some pics at the overlook:
On a clear day you can overlook hill prairies and the creek.
Well, onto getting lost! I was driving to Dolason Trailhead to join an astronomy program, and missed it by a mile! But along the way...
I eventually made it...on another day! :-)
If you do over gravel road for about 6 miles, you've gone way to far. If you go past that and past a light tower, you've really gone to far! If you get back onto smooth paved road-YOU'VE GONE WAY WAY TO FAR!!! Once you get to the bridge, just admit you've gone to far and turn around.
