The Curonian Spit (Kuršių nerija). August-September 2017

The Curonian Spit (Kuršių nerija) (http://www.nerija.lt/en) begins from the city of Kranz (Cranz), now Zelenogradsk, and stretches for 98 km. From these 98 km I walked along the edge of the waves on foot almost 4 km.
The last scrap of civilization is summer cafes.

Ahead of 98 km of Spit

The bush and small trees on the top of the dune are bent by the wind away from the sea.

Cormorants, gulls and ducks

1.5 km passed

There are rare stones

In 100 m from the shore through the dune and forest passes car road. People leave cars on it and go to the beach to sunbathe and swim.
Top. Start of the forest.

Paths to the road

Cars of tourists

Local creativity of holidaymakers

About 4 km from the town

Another 94 km of Spit I left for future walks.

At the beginning of the spit during a storm.
