The Road to Cafayate
This isn't the landscape you would expect to see in South America. This is one you would expect from the South West. But yet here it is in the North Eastern part of Argentina in a place called Cafayate. Cafayate is about a 2-hour bus ride from the city of Salta and 5 hours from Buenos Aires.
The place is known for it's arid but fertile lands ideal for growing a specific type of grape, Torrontes. Torrontes is a white wine varietal that's fruity, but not sweet, and fragrant. Here you can get some of the best for only $4 a bottle.
